Cornell University Baroque Organ

http://baroqueorgan.cornell.edu

Sometimes an opportunity comes along in my job to make a website for something truly fabulous and singularly beautiful. The Cornell Baroque Organ is a collaborative effort by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Gothenburg Organ Art Center (GOArt) at the University of GĂ–TEBORG, Sweden.
The design was conceived to exhibit the fantastic craftsmanship of the organ itself. The website is managed with CommonSpot.

David Moreland

http://davidmoreland.com

David Moreland, magician, educator and story teller hired me to build a site that reflects the fun learning environment he creates in his library shows and school assemblies. This project was a pleasure to work on, as David, a professional actor and entertainer, had strong ideas to balance kid-fun and adult-quality. The site was built with WordPress to provide content management opportunities to David. Videos help bring David’s vitality to the site.

Soil, Foods and Healthy Communities

http://soilandfood.org

Soil, Foods and Healthy Communities (SFHC) is a program with the powerful goal of improving soil quality and food security in northern Malawi, Africa. We used various features of WordPress and customized plugins to create a list of farmers involved with the project. A blog powers the Updates and News section of the site. The design and life of the site is inspired by the colors and textures of the country and the people benefiting form SFHC’s efforts.

Soaring Stories

http://soaringstories.com

Regi Carpenter, story teller and educator, hired me to redesign her website—from a design I did 6 years ago—to redefine her public image as she moved to programs aimed at a more mature audience. The color scheme of the website calls to mind earth and water, two grounding elements in Regi’s work. This website also includes a blog that does double duty as news and announcement center, and functions as a creative outlet for inspirational story ideas.

College of Arts and Sciences

http://as.cornell.edu

This is a project I worked on in my role as the website designer for the College of Arts and Sciences, at Cornell University. It was a complete overhaul of the college’s web presence. The main challenge that faced our team, was to show the depth and breadth of the departments, faculty and students. The site also had to depict the historic stature and excellence of this ivy league institution. Academic departments, majors and news are brought to life with custom designed delivery concepts and mechanisms. The CommonSpot content management system holds everything together.
